March 31, 2019: Mexican Breakfast

Our 7th annual breakfast is now in the history books. What a grand success it was! We heard lots of kudos from attendees – many commenting on the taste and quality of the meal. Whether a first timer or a return patron, everyone was made to feel welcome, first by board members Cathy Van Ruhan and Judith Pasco – who also served as cashiers. This continued with friendly service by wonderful table servers – board members Beth Fetrow and Kathy Purcell, and Nancy Floyd. Sandy Reed kept the Raven’s Brew coffee ready, providing endless refills to attendees. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, a perfect venue for community sharing – some new friendships were started.

Board member Steve Gilchrist headed up the kitchen with a terrific line-up of kitchen volunteers: board members John Boetsch and Martha Rudersdorf, and Gael Gilchrist, Marilyn Gilchrist, and Ole Hartelius. They kept the breakfasts flowing and no one had to wait long for their delicious meal.

We also had some items for sale – including books – which some folks decided to purchase.

We thank Raven’s Brew for the coffee and are grateful to all our supporters for their generosity. All of our great workers stayed to help with clean-up – ending the event united in purpose.
