March 4, 2018: Mexican Breakfast
We are delighted to report that our 6th annual breakfast was a success! I think what we realized this year is that folks attend not just for the breakfast (which undoubtedly is delicious) but for the lovely social event that this has morphed into. People come and are served by our wonderful servers (Board members Cathy Van Ruhan and Kathy Purcell, Rose Bridge and Jolene Sanford.) Raven’s Brew coffee is served, and attendees relax and drink endless refills while they socialize with friends or get acquainted with others sharing their table.
Board member Steve Gilchrist headed up the kitchen with a terrific line-up of kitchen volunteers: board member John Boetsch: Mary Ann Deuth, Elaine Bradford, Marti Campbell and her partner, Wayne, and Gael Gilchrist. Nancy Floyd gave the crew a head-start by pre-chopping the day before.
Board member Beth Fetrow welcomed everyone and served as cashier. Rhonda Karls spontaneously helped with clean-up.
Thanks go out to all those above-mentioned, as well as to the almost 80 people who came to enjoy our breakfast. The Mujeres’ board is very grateful to our many loyal supporters
